Kenya Airways announced the cancellation of cancellation of KQ310, KQ305 and freighter flights as a safety measure for its customers and crew.

In an official statement on Saturday, February 28, the national carrier cited the closure of the region’s airspace.

“We wish to inform our customers that we have temporarily suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah until further notice due to the UAE airspace closure,” KQ said.

The disruptions comes after American President Donald Trump announced the start of US military strikes following the collapse of Nuclear negotiation in Geneva. On February 28, 2026, the United States and Israel launched what was described as a joint military offensive against Iran.

KQ further apologised for the disruption and assured customers that affected passengers would be contacted directly.

“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate
your patience and understanding. We will communicate and engage directly
with affected customers and provide them with the necessary
assistance,” the airline said.

It further cautioned that the situation remains unpredictable: “As this is a developing situation, we will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available.”

The crisis is now sending shockwaves through global aviation. With Russian and Ukrainian airspace already restricted due to the ongoing war, the Middle East has become a critical alternative route linking Europe and Asia, making the current disruption even more severe.
